Marketing Executive

(Sheffield Head Office, South Yorkshire)

We are currently looking for a full-time Marketing Executive to join Ancon’s established, centralised UK-based marketing team.

As a key member of the team you will assist in all elements of the global promotion of the Ancon Group’s products and services, in line with an ambitious business growth strategy. You will assist in the delivery of high quality, often highly technical, market-specific communications to support the launch of a number of new and improved products each year and develop sales at home and abroad.

The challenge in this role is the coordination of numerous activities simultaneously, working with a diverse product range, multiple languages and media platforms, in a variety of target markets.

Duties include:

  • Project managing the creation/maintenance of Ancon Group marketing communications, from design through implementation and review, e.g. online identity, literature, email newsletters, PR, advertising, exhibitions, packaging etc
  • Liaising with all Ancon Group businesses and a wide range of internal departments to ensure technically accurate and market-specific communications are released
  • Employing external agencies to perform requirements outside the department’s capabilities and ensure timely and efficient supply of services to meet deadlines/high internal expectations e.g. graphic design, translation, copywriting, print, web development etc

 Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a busy business-to-business marketing communications role, co-ordinating multiple marketing projects/activities simultaneously
  • Marketing degree or equivalent higher education qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Sound understanding of Marketing principles
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience of writing persuasive, engaging copy
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Good time management/organisation of personal workload
  • Strong analytical, administrative and organisational skills
  • IT literacy with competency in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Enjoys working and actively participating in a team
  • Works on own initiative, with enthusiasm, and has ability to multi-task
  • Works well under pressure and to deadlines
  • Communicates well at all levels of an organisation
  • Applies ‘common sense’ and is practical
  • Follows instruction well and works within set boundaries
  • Demonstrates high level of integrity

 Desirable Characteristics:

  • CIM/CAM qualification or similar professional qualification
  • Experience/Knowledge of the Construction/Engineering Industry
  • Experience of marketing technical solutions
  • Experience of targeting construction professionals, contractors and distributors
  • Competency in using Adobe Photoshop, MS Publisher and Google Analytics
  • Competency in using social media in a business environment
  • Foreign language skills, preferably German

Continuous Improvement Engineer

(Sheffield Head Office, South Yorkshire)

Working alongside our existing Operational Excellence Manager, plant managers and other key managers, to drive and facilitate a wide range of operational improvement Initiatives using Lean principles across our facilities in Sheffield and Deeside, North Wales.

Based in Sheffield you should expect at times to spend 1-2 days per week at our factory in Deeside as and when projects demand. Some overseas travel may also be required from time to time.

Duties include:

  • Working with team managers to identify opportunities for improvement using a variety of tools such as VSM, KPI’s etc
  • Working with a variety of operational teams including manufacturing, purchasing and sales order processing, to provide project leadership, coaching and lasting performance improvement
  • Apply Lean principles such as Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S, 5 Whys and visual management etc. to implement and sustain improvement activities
  • Train, coach and mentor teams to promote and instil Lean processes throughout the operation
  • Gather and analyse accurate information to facilitate effective decision-making
  • Facilitate change by maintaining excellent two-way communication with employees collectively via regular team briefings
  • Initiate capex proposals to support change from concept through feasibility to implementation
  • Ensure our ERP system is effectively utilised to support the business needs
  • Promote customer service excellence at all times
  • Ensure compliance with all EH&S systems and procedures

Essential Requirements:

The candidate must be an enthusiastic, driven, self-starting, problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude. They must be capable of managing multiple tasks, using their own initiative and able to communicate effectively at all levels.

  • A degree most likely in an engineering discipline, with MINIMUM 5 years post-grad experience
  • A recognized qualification or demonstrable experience in implementing Lean / 6 Sigma
  • A successful track record of change and process improvement
  • Customer focused and target driven
  • Ability to identify solutions based on a mixture of analysis, experience and judgment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • An effective verbal and written communicator at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to coach and train others in Lean techniques.
  • A self-motivated problem solver
  • Excellent ERP and data analysis skills and experience
  • Possess excellent H&S awareness
  • Driving Licence

 Desirable Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining and forming processes
  • Supervisory / Management experience in a fast moving manufacturing environment
  • Ability to use AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Movex ERP system
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel and data analysis
