| Welcome to the latest Ancon newsletter. This month we've launched a new KSN Anchor design program and updated our popular Cavity Wall Tie App. There is also information on the latest Construction Products Regulations that came into force earlier this year.
| | KSN Anchor software to simplify the design of wall-to-slab joints | New software from Ancon simplifies the design of our award-winning KSN Anchor rebar continuity system in wall to slab construction joints, providing safer, faster concrete connections on site. The KSN system comprises internally-threaded anchors which are cast into the wall and, during construction of the adjoining slab, accept continuation bars prepared with an Ancon Bartec parallel-thread. Calculating to the requirements of fib Bulletin 58 and Eurocode 2, the KSN software provides designs for moment connections and tension only applications. A simple interface enables users to input a range of project-specific data with the joint detail automatically shown to scale on screen providing an instant visual check of accuracy. The user selects a preferred KSN Anchor, with the program automatically calculating other suitable anchor sizes and lengths from the range and any additional reinforcement requirements. This analysis enables the designer to choose the most appropriate, cost-effective system for their application. The innovative App makes choosing the most appropriate wall tie for any cavity wall construction quick and easy, whether at home, on-site or in the office. Launched last year, the App now includes ultra low thermal conductivity TeploTies to suit cavity widths up to 450mm. Their use reduces thermal bridging across the cavity, minimising insulation depth and wall footprint. The latest version of the App is free to download from the App Store for all iPhone and iPad users, or from the Google Play Store for Android handsets and tablets. After this date, any fabricated structural component delivered to site without a CE mark, including masonry supports and windposts, is in breach of the EU Construction Products Regulation. Ancon is proud to have offered the Industry a fully CE-compliant range since July 2013 - a full year ahead of the industry deadline. The CE Marking of Ancon’s extensive product portfolio, so far in advance of the 2014 deadline, demonstrates an established understanding of Eurocode design methodology and a long-term commitment to robust manufacturing controls. Suppliers applying out of date codes and practices may struggle to adapt to the demands of this Regulation. Non-compliant goods pose significant risks to your business. Find out more | | |
