Ancon further extends

ST1 wall tie range

Now available in seven lengths, the Ancon ST1 wall tie range has been extended to suit high-rise masonry buildings with cavities up to 225mm wide.

Ancon continues to lead the wall tie sector with these new 325mm and 350mm tie lengths. The ST1 is the only heavy duty wall tie suitable for these super-insulated cavities and, with wall tie installation being such a hot topic following the collapse of an Edinburgh school wall as a result of poor workmanship, these new lengths feature a maximum design cavity embedment guide to aid installation.

Largest UK PassivHaus uses Teplo wall ties

Ancon Teplo, a range of innovative basalt-fibre wall ties, has virtually eliminated thermal bridging in the insulated external masonry walls of the Centre of Medicine in Leicester - the UK’s largest non-residential PassivHaus.

This widely recognised energy performance standard utilises a fabric-first approach, relying on a very high level of thermal efficiency in the external envelope to minimise energy demands and provide a stable and comfortable internal environment.

A combination of over 10,000 Teplo cavity wall ties and Teplo-L frame cramps, suitable for a 300mm cavity, were installed on this certified PassivHaus and BREEAM Excellent project.

With a thermal conductivity of just 0.7W/mK, the Teplo range is excluded from U-value calculations.

Rebar Couplers installed on Queensferry Crossing

Over 100,000 Ancon Threaded Couplers are used to join reinforcing bars in the concrete support towers, end piers and road deck of this stunning new bridge across the Firth of Forth.

Officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen on Monday, the new Queensferry Crossing is the longest three-tower, cable-stayed bridge in the world.

TA1-A CARES-approved Bartec Plus couplers offer a full strength connection together with enhanced fatigue resistance, making them ideal for major infrastructure projects. They were installed in a variety of sizes from 12-40mm on this project, with the larger diameters being used to join reinforcement running the full height of the three 680ft support towers.

Special stainless steel BT Couplers are used below and around the water line.
