Celebrating specialist brickwork contractors at the 50th Brick Awards

Leviat is proud to be backing the people who bring brickwork to life, as sponsor of the Specialist Brickwork Contractor Award at this year’s Brick Awards. This sponsorship comes in a landmark year for the Brick Development Association's (BDA) Brick Awards, as it celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026.

Taking place on Wednesday 4th November 2026 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, the Brick Awards are the UK's longest-running awards programme for clay brick architecture and craftsmanship. This year's celebratory event features 19 categories, with hundreds of projects entered by architects, specialist contractors and developers. Each entry is assessed by a panel of industry experts.

The Specialist Brickwork Contractor Award recognises the contractors who turn ambitious masonry and façade designs into finished buildings. It is the category most closely aligned with Leviat's own work. Through Leviat's masonry product brand, Ancon, we have supplied support systems, wall ties and restraint fixings to brickwork projects across the UK for decades, backed by technical support from design through to installation.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Lisa Sherburne-Kilby, Leviat's Commercial Director, Masonry, said:

Specialist brickwork contractors play a vital role in delivering some of the UK's most ambitious masonry and façade projects. Their skill is what brings an architect's design to life on site, and it deserves recognition. We’re proud to work alongside these contractors every day through our Ancon range, so sponsoring this award in the 50th year of the Brick Awards is a natural fit for us.

Leviat's involvement this year extends beyond the sponsorship. A number of projects on the 2026 shortlist feature Ancon solutions, including:

  • Skinner Street, Leeds
  • London Museum
  • 1 Ancoats Green, Manchester
  • The Exchange, Watford
  • Abbey Road, Camden
  • No 3 Circle Square, Manchester
  • Shoemakers Museum, Somerset
  • Brentwood School Boarding House, Essex
  • Waterhouse Gardens, Manchester
  • Norham Gardens, Oxford
  • Cobham House, Surrey
  • Greenholme Street, Glasgow

Lisa added:

The standard of this year’s shortlist is a credit to the whole industry, and we are pleased to have a played a part in a number of the projects.  We look forward to celebrating at what promises to be a special evening in November for everyone involved in realising beautiful brick projects.
