Updates to Shearfix Design Software

Ancon's Shearfix software has been updated. Version 4.2.14 includes the following changes:

1. The default beta factor of 1.5 for re-entrant corners has been removed from designs to Eurocode 2. For re-entrant corners the design action Veff will be required which must include the beta factor calculated in accordance with Equation 6.39 of EN 1992-1-1 (Eurocode 2).
2. The default factor of 1.25 for re-entrant corners has been removed from designs to BS8110. For re-entrant corners the design action Veff will be required which should be calculated in accordance with clause 3.7.6.3 of BS 8110-1.
3. The option of using an orthogonal layout for circular columns has been removed from the software, as some of the studs on the first row would be positioned too far from the column face. This applies to designs for both Eurocode 2 and BS 8110.
