New ‘Daisy Chain’ Day Care Centre, Teesside
Ancon has provided 4,000 wall ties and insulation retaining clips, free of charge, to the build of a new Day Care Centre for the Daisy Chain charity in Teesside.
Based on a 5 acre farm in Norton, Daisy Chain provides respite care and support for children with autism and their families.
Ancon has joined a number of leading building product manufacturers and distributors by supporting this construction project with materials and technical advice.
Duane Hanson, co-founder of the charity, said,
Contributions from companies such as Ancon make a great difference to the project and the lives of the families we support.
When complete, this centre will result in a comprehensive support facility that is unique in the country. It will include a sensory play area, IT and Music suites, art and craft areas, conference facilities and provide services, courses and workshops for our families. It will also be a brand new home for our Sibling Support service, which will prove to be crucial for our families.
Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects the way a person communicates and relates to people around them. At Daisy Chain our vision is to provide a range of support measures that take account of the needs of the whole family rather than just the child who has autism.
