Ancon brings low energy fixing innovation to Ecobuild 2013
2012 Queen’s Award Winner, Ancon, chose Ecobuild to showcase the latest innovative structural fixing solutions that are helping to change the way that sustainable low energy buildings are designed and constructed.
Solutions on show included low thermal conductivity cavity wall ties, such as the Ancon TeploTie, an innovative basalt-fibre tie used in many groundbreaking low-energy developments; and new Staifix RT2 275mm, the first high thermal performance Type 2 stainless steel wall tie to enable the use of 150mm wide insulated cavities in multi-storey low energy construction.
Also featured was a range of Ancon Thermal Breaks, designed to reduce thermal bridging at balcony connections, brickwork support brackets and other areas where thermal continuity of the building envelope is typically compromised.
Completing the displays were Ancon’s more established solutions, including support angles, windposts and masonry reinforcement, which benefit from the same low thermal conductivity, 100% recyclability and long, maintenance-free life associated with all of the company’s market-leading stainless steel products.
Get Interactive with Augmented Reality This year's stand saw the arrival of Augmented Reality! The stand featured an interactive area where visitors could learn about the installation of our products through animated 3D visuals. |
Visitors had access to the unique technical support, innovative approach and manufacturing excellence that, in the company’s 130th year of continuous operation, won Ancon the 2012 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation. They were also able to discuss recent developments with the UK’s leading brick manufacturer Ibstock, who, with a range of over 500 bricks and rainscreen cladding systems, will be joining Ancon on the stand.
