Ancon Wins 'Best Innovation in Insulation' at the Build It Awards
Less than a month after receiving the 2012 Queen’s Award for Innovation from the Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, Ancon has been announced winner of yet another innovation award.
Ancon’s latest success comes in the 2012 Build It Awards, where the TeploTie low thermal conductivity basalt fibre wall tie was voted ‘Best Innovation in Insulation’.
The TeploTie is the most thermally efficient wall tie on the market, and has already been used in a number of prestigious low-energy projects, including the first certified Passivhaus to use traditional masonry cavity construction, and the first zero carbon retrofit to achieve level 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. View our project case studies for further information.
Helping to open the door for traditional masonry super-insulated homes, the TeploTie is manufactured from an innovative composite material with a thermal conductivity so low it can be totally excluded from EN ISO 6946 U-value calculations. This enables target U-values to be achieved using thinner, more efficient wall constructions.
Judged by a panel of industry experts, the Build It Awards were presented at a special ceremony at the National Self Build and Renovation Centre in Swindon on 25th October.
Following the ceremony, Laura Aston Bowes said,
As a company focussed on innovation and product development, we were delighted earlier this year to win the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation. As the highest accolade that any UK company can achieve, the Queen’s Award not only recognises innovation but excellence in all areas of the business.
This latest Award for the Ancon TeploTie is a clear indication that the work we are doing is being recognised and applauded across the industry. Wherever there is a construction problem to solve, Ancon simply keeps coming up with innovative solutions.
