Leviat Expands Its Range of Non-Combustible Clips

Introducing the second non‑combustible clip in the range: the Ancon A1‑S Insulation Retaining Clip. This new A1-rated, non-combustible clip has been specifically designed for use with Ancon flat wall ties, including the SDB, SD21 and YDB, providing secure retention of insulation in applications requiring enhanced fire performance.

Engineered from high‑tensile, A1-rated stainless spring steel, the A1-S clip provides specifiers and contractors with a robust, fire-safe alternative for cavity wall systems. It supports compliance with the latest Building Regulations Approved Document B (ADB), which requires non‑combustible components in certain building applications. 

While Leviat’s existing plastic insulation retaining clips continue to be fully compliant and suitable for use in cavity wall construction, the introduction of the Ancon A1-S broadens the choice available. Customers can now select the most suitable product for their project’s fire‑performance needs, whether standard or fire‑critical. 

Designed for long-term durability, the A1-S offers exceptional corrosion resistance and a service life of up to 60 years. Like the Ancon A1‑ST1 clip, the A1-S is ready for immediate use straight out of the box - it requires no on-site bending or adjustment. Installers simply slide the clip onto the Ancon flat tie and position it in place. Smooth, rounded edges help improve installer safety while ensuring reliable insulation retention.
