Building Connections at Super Trowel 2025

Super Trowel 2025 brought together the very best of the bricklaying industry and Leviat was proud to be part of it once again. Held at Stoneleigh Park in Kenilworth, this year’s final was a fantastic opportunity to connect with bricklayers, contractors, and partners across the sector. From showcasing our latest innovations to hosting engaging competitions, the event was a true celebration of craftsmanship and community.

A Stand Full of Energy

The Leviat stand quickly became a hub of activity. Visitors were welcomed with a free barista-made coffee - an offer even last year’s Super Trowel champion, Charlie Collison, couldn’t resist. Our Batak speed reaction game proved a crowd favourite, with Alex Davis from Construction Sport taking the top spot with an impressive 59 points in 30 seconds, winning a £100 Virgin Experience voucher.

We also ran a social media competition, encouraging attendees to snap a photo at our stand, follow and tag our Instagram channel (Ancon_Staifix) for a chance to win a four-ball golf day at the Forest of Arden Country Club. Congratulations to Adam Rogers of Rogers Brickwork, who was selected via a live Instagram spin-the-wheel!

Showcasing Innovation

We used the event to spotlight our trusted Ancon wall ties and restraints, with a dedicated product board highlighting key solutions for bricklayers and contractors. Our brand new packaging for the Ancon Staifix range was on display which has been designed for clarity, durability, and ease of use, with QR codes linking to installation guides.

We also launched a new Ancon Staifix Pocket Guide; a pocket sized reference tool for end users to explore our full range of products, available through builders’ merchants or direct from Leviat. Attendees also got a sneak peek of our upcoming Ancon A1-ST1 insulation retaining clip; keep an eye out for more details coming soon!

Engaging Beyond the Stand

Our presence extended well beyond the stand. In the lead up to the event, we partnered with Super Trowel organisers for a popular Instagram giveaway, offering free tickets to the show and products, which winners collected on the day. We also collaborated with our customer; Jewson, to offer free product vouchers to the first 50 people who took part in their Beat the Bricklayer challenge.

Leviat branding was visible throughout the arena, from banners around the competition space to a 30-second advert on the big screens, ensuring we were front of mind throughout the day.

Conversations That Matter

Super Trowel 2025 also sparked important industry conversations. Many discussions focused on the impact of wider cavities and the need for compliance with Part L and the upcoming Future Homes Standard. We highlighted how our new Ancon Staifix HRT4 300mm wall tie meets these evolving requirements and clarified a common question: Ancon Staifix wall ties are designed to be universal and can be installed either way up.

Another key topic was the Building Safety Act and Gateway 2, with contractors raising concerns about the approval process. We shared how Leviat supports customer's specific projects with comprehensive product documentation, proof of employee competence, and how early-stage involvement can help navigate complex compliance challenges.

Crowning the Champion

The highlight of the day was the thrilling final competition, where US bricklayer Cole Stamper was crowned the UK’s fastest bricklayer after scoring a staggering 719 bricks, just edging out two-time champion Charlie Collison, who scored 709 bricks.

Awards were also presented for standout achievements during the event. Charlie Collison received recognition for laying an incredible 903 bricks before any deduction; just shy of the Guinness World Record of 914 bricks in 60 minutes, set by Bob Boll in 1987. Another special award went to Ash Mahoney for having the least points deducted, earning him the title of cleanest wall laid. His precision was celebrated with a prestigious Golden Trowel.

What People Said

Feedback from attendees reinforced the value of Leviat’s presence.
One bricklayer told us: “I would only ever use Ancon for my projects. The new Ancon Staifix packaging looks great!”

George Spreckley from the Brick Development Association (BDA) added: “Great to be here at the Leviat stand today, we have a great partnership with Leviat through our joint Brick Works CPD events.”
